Downloading a save imaged of already uploaded art
Karen Loftus
Something changed. I used to be able to click to open an image, then right-click on the image, and I could save it as a PNG (or other option). Now the only options is SAVE IMAGE AS and it's a .WEBP file.
Now it requires an additional step in SnagIt (or something else) to re-save it as a PNG file.

the .webp file type creates a faster loading file better for viewing on ecomm sites. However not optimal for Print.
Why WebP falls short for print.
-Lossy compression focus
-WebP is designed for web delivery (small file sizes), not print fidelity. Even at high quality, it can introduce subtle artifacts that become visible in large prints.
-Color management limitations
-WebP has inconsistent ICC profile support across workflows. Print labs like Bay Photo Lab rely heavily on accurate color profiles (sRGB/Adobe RGB).
-Workflow incompatibility
-Most pro labs—including Bay Photo—do not recommend or sometimes won’t accept WebP. Their pipelines are tuned for JPEG/TIFF.
Solution: ASF should allow right click to save in .webp, .png .jpeg formats

I agree it's a pain dealing with .webp. My guess is that it's because .webp can be half the size or better than the .png. Although the compute is heavier than to output .png. On balance, they seem to put more weight on the smaller files.

I'm only guessing here (so take it with a grain of salt...) I am thinking it might have something to do with the anti-theft coding to prevenet stealing your art? However, I never tried doing what you are experiencing
